The Awards Ceremony will be held at the Prince of Wales Theatre in the West End on the 27th of February. This will be the 22nd Annual Awards Ceremony for What’s On Stage and is the only awards ceremony voted on by the public.
The Ceremony promises to be a star-studded event with performances from West End shows and shows throughout the UK.
The ICMT Principal says, ‘This is our first time sponsoring this prestigious event. When we were considering it, we thought about how much fun it would be to attend, for starters, but more importantly, how motivating it would be to our students to see their school’s name up there sponsoring an award with such talent on the list.
The ICMT’s primary mission is to train the performers of tomorrow with the industry professionals of today. ‘It’s not just all about the training aspect of what we do,’ says Kenneth, ‘but the exposure we give the students to the industry.’
The ICMT has a lot more to shout about this year after announcing their new Two-Year Accelerated Degree Program in Musical Theatre Performance at the start of ‘22. This is the first-ever of its kind in England and is validated by Coventry University. This conservatoire-style vocational training aims to get the student into the industry sooner with cost-saving advantages over a 3-year degree program.
Over the past ten years, our graduates have gone on to work in many high-profile productions. These include the West End productions of Les Misérables, On Your Feet, The Book of Mormon, Mary Poppins, SIX, Seussical the Musical, Tina Turner the Musical, Hair, Godspell, and Light in the Piazza. They have also been cast in the international tours of CATS, Angelina Ballerina, The Lion King, and Mary Poppins.
ICMT Graduates have also appeared in UK tours include Shrek, The Lion King, Hairspray, The Great Gatsby, Motown the Musical, Godspell, American Idiot, Sunny Afternoon, Cabaret, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, On Your Feet, Peppa Pig’s Best Day Ever, Crazy for You, Tommy, and Miracle on 34th Street.
