Foundation Year in Musical Theatre Performance

Your first step into professional musical theatre training.

If you’re passionate about performing but need more time to develop your skills before starting a full degree, our Foundation Year is the perfect starting point.

This foundation year gives you the tools, confidence and practical experience to progress directly into the ICMT’s two-year accelerated BA (Hons) Musical Theatre Performance degree. You’ll train with working professionals in acting, singing and dance, every day, in the studio, learning what it really means to live and work like a performer.

A year of growth

Over the course of the year, you’ll develop core skills in all three disciplines, acting, singing and dancing, through technique classes, rehearsals, theory, and integrated performance work.

You'll also gain practical knowledge in music theory, vocal and physical anatomy, reflective practice, and audition prep. Most importantly, you’ll grow as a performer.

Entry Requirements

Academic Requirements

5 GCSEs (grades 9–4), including Maths and English or English Literature
Or
BTEC DMM in Performing Arts or related subject
